Laurel Aitken's Birthday Party

In 2025, Laurel Aitken would have been turning 98 years of age. In celebration of one of the most iconic reggae / ska musicians of all time, AGMP Concerts are presenting a special one-off night in dedication to Lorenzo Aitken, professionally known as Laurel Aitken, with a live performance from Landlords & Tenants, under the musical direction of Ciyo 'Guitar' Brown.

Dubbed as 'The Godfather of Ska', Laurel Aitken released acclaimed 45's on the Blue Beat, Rio, Nu Beat, Doctor Bird and Pama labels during the 60's ska boom. Laurel Aitken went on to release some singles on Secret Affair's I-Spy Records label in 1980, appear with David Bowie in the 1986 'Absolute Beginners' film, and was covered by UB40 on their 'Labour of Love' LP. 

Landlords & Tenants will be performing Laurel Aitken classics such as - Skinhead Train, Guilty, Sally Brown, Rudi Got Married, Mr. Soul, Everybody Sufferin', Landlords and Tenants, Funky Chicken, Honky Tonk Popcorn, Fire In Mi Wire, Skinhead, It's Too Late, Jesse James, Rise & Fall, Mr. Popcorn  - and many more.
