Edward, Annie and R.C. Brown are the Staples Jr. Singers who hail from Aberdeen, Mississippi. In 1975 they released their own privately pressed LP "When Do We Get Paid". The album was sold at shows, church and to neighbours with copies languishing in record collections with only a handful of copies reaching hardcore collectors over the years. In 2022, Luaka Bop gave the LP a worldwide release for the first time to universal acclaim.

After plays from Gilles Peterson and Craig Charles on BBC6 Music the band came to Europe for the first time for a series of sold out shows and a noteable performance at WOMAD. They have since collaborated with Four Tet and The Avalanches.

In anticipation of their second album's release (50 years after the first album) we are thrilled to welcome Staples Jr. Singers to the UK.
